SwitchCore
Increasing bandwidth with SwitchCore
One of the most innovative Scandinavian producers of single-chip network solutions, SwitchCore, is based in Lund. SwitchCore is a fabless semiconductor company that designs, develops, and markets integrated silicon devices for network equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
The company's technology increases the bandwidth and performance of switches and routers. Its flagship product is the CXE-16, an integrated switching device that can switch up to 24 million packets per second.
CXE technology, based on full-custom design methodology, makes it possible to achieve the highest levels of functionality on a small surface, which in turn gives customers greater capacity at lower manufacturing costs.
The competitiveness of SwitchCore products was recognised by the computing industry giant Intel. The companies have an agreement that gives Intel exclusive rights to manufacture and sell SwitchCore's Gigabit switching devices. The agreement includes development, marketing and distribution of Gigabit Ethernet switching building blocks for enterprise and MAN solutions and runs for four years, while the exclusivity terms for two and a half years.
The SwitchCore Group has about 90 employees and offices in Lund and Stockholm in Sweden, San Jose, California and Boston, Massachusetts in the US and Singapore in Asia.
