CAT
CAT offers 8,500 sq.m of office and laboratory facilities and runs science parks at three different locations: Risø National Laboratory (in Roskilde), the Technical University of Denmark (in Lyngby) and Roskilde University (RUC). Overall, 60 companies are currently housed at CAT. They work in areas like microsystems, sensors, materials and the environment, as well as information technology and communications technology.
At DTU, CAT is of particular interest to companies willing to interact with engineering science research environments, in particular in the areas of microtechnology, communications technology and electronics. CAT at the RISØ-domicile is particularly attractive to companies making use of RISØ’s expertise and competencies in areas like materials, sensors, optics and energy. CAT at RUC gives direct access to RUC’s research expertise – from biology and chemistry to computer science and communications and social science environments in areas like technological planning and business economics.
CAT also offers counselling and administrative support. Through co-operation with the science park Symbion, CAT can provide access to pre-project capital – typically up to DKK 750,000 per project – which is used mainly for developing and documenting the commercial potential of a new business idea.
