Venture company invests in nano-software The venture company Dansk Kapitalanlæg has acquired 20 percent of the software company Atomistix for 670,000 euro.
(Micro & Nano)
Atomistix develops software for modelling the electrical
properties of nanoscale devices. In practice the software can be
used for the design of nanocomponents that can make computer chips
smaller and considerably increase the speed of computers.
Thomas Magnussen, managing director of Atomistix says that the
investment will be used to expand the company, whose goal is to
become a world leading supplier of software for atomic modelling.
So far there are no competitors with corresponding products.
Founded in October 2003, the company has already entered
cooperation with Hewlett-Packard, and the US space organisation
NASA has also shown an interest in the product.
Atomistix currently employs 15 people and, according to Thomas
Magnussen, up to 200 people are expected to be employed in three
years. There are plans to establish divisions in Singapore and
Montreal, Canada in the coming months, informs Computerworld and
Comon online.
