Bill Gates' speech will take place at the Tænketanken Fremtidens Vækst, a think tank focusing on future growth created by the Danish government. The event will also feature Anders Knudzen, the think tank’s chairman, Professor Kenneth Rogoff, lecturer at Harvard University, and Bendt Bendtsen, the Danish Minister for Economy and Trade and Industry.

On the same day, Gates will give the opening keynote speech at Microsoft IT Forum 2004, which will be held in Copenhagen as well. Here the theme will be “The Magic of Software” and Gates will share his optimism about the future of computing.

“We're only beginning to realize computing’s potential. I believe that we're entering an era when software will fundamentally transform almost everything we do. The continued growth of processing power, storage, networking, and graphics is making it possible to create almost any device imaginable. But it's the magic of software that will connect these devices into a seamless whole, making them an indispensable part of our everyday lives,” says Bill Gates in the prelude to his keynote appearance at the Microsoft conference.
