Telmate provides integrated carrier services to telecom operators. The company works with international operators around the globe to streamline their processes and methods within the areas of international voice minute trading, optimal routing decisions and dynamic switch configuration.

The venture started as an Ericsson Innovation cell in 1998 with the focus to enable international telecom operators to manage Least Cost Routing in a smarter and more efficient way. In 2002 Telmate was founded to take over this business from Ericsson and is today an independent solutions provider.

As part of the agreement involved with the new investment, Telmate capabilities will be sold as part of Intec’s InterconnecT range. "With the integration of Telmate’s sophisticated routing optimisation technology, Intec has further extended the capabilities of its InterconnecT billing software family, as well as investing in a company with a good track record of business development and profitability." said Intec Executive Chairman, Mike Frayne.

Founded in 1997, Intec Telecom Systems is an OSS product vendor for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks (i.e. WLAN, 3G and IP), with more than 650 installations of its products worldwide in 450 customers. The company is a market leader in inter-carrier billing systems and convergent mediation software.
