An international panel of judges selected the shortlist and the winners will be announced at the Awards Evening on 15 February during the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes. Twelve awards in four categories will be presented.
Almost Hollywood has been specifically produced for mobile phones and has already had its world premiere in Norway, in cooperation with Tele2 Mobil. It is a video soap opera with 90 episodes, each of them with two minutes of duration.
”We are very proud of Almost Hollywood’s nomination, which is the only mobile series with real video,” said Inmobia’s CEO Flemming Lund.
The series can be seen on all new models of mobile phones. On the soap’s homepage viewers can interact with each other or with the actors. The soap was produced and filmed by a film company in Los Angeles, where Inmobia plans new productions aimed at the mobile market.
Copenhagen-based Inmobia has during several years provided content to mobile companies like Vodafone, Telefonica and Verizon. Today, Inmobia products reach approximately 250 million people around the world, distributed in 20 countries and 15 languages.
Inmobia will compete against four other companies for the Best Mobile Entertainment Content or Service Award: Somethin’ Else, Jamba! (the content mobile division of VeriSing Inc.), M1 and T-Mobile International UK.
In its tenth edition, the GSM Awards has got a record number of 450 entries. The Awards are open to all companies that offer content, products or services running on GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3GSM (W-CDMA) networks.
