Most influential paper award to ITU’s vice chancellor
Mads Tofte, IT University of Copenhagen’s vice chancellor, has received the Most Influential POPL Paper Award for POPL 1994.
(R&D)

The award was announced during this year’s Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages (POPL), in Long Beach, US. The paper is co-authored by Jean-Pierre Talpin, from the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control.

The POPL award is given annually to the authors of a paper presented at the POPL Symposium held ten years prior to the award year. The papers are judged by their importance and influence in computer science research.

In 1994, the POPL Symposium received 173 papers, from which 39 were accepted for presentation at the event. Tofte and Talpin’s article was about methods for reutilization of computer storage.
