Microsoft Business Solution based in Vedbæk, north of Copenhagen, has become a pure development facility.
(R&D)

Microsoft has reorganised its Vedbæk unit, which has become a sole development division, according to the Danish business paper ErhvervsBladet. Several employees were transferred to other Microsoft companies and the number of software developers increased from 340 to 354.

In Microsoft Business Solutions' 2003/04 annual report, the management affirm s that the Vedbæk unit will focus on business and development activities for Microsoft Corporation in 2004/05.

Microsoft Business Solutions Denmark offers business management software such as Axapta, Navision, C5 and XAL. The company has also a development team working on Supply Chain Management based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips in collaboration with KiMs, a midsize Danish potato chip manufacturer.

The Vedbæk facility, Microsoft's largest development centre outside the Seattle HQ, was created after the IT giant acquired the Danish company Navision in 2002 for approximately 1.5 billion euro, the then second most expensive acquisition in Microsoft's history.
