Axis Communications recently received Frost & Sullivan’s 2005 Excellence in Technology Award for two of their Network Dome Cameras. The award is presented to a company that develops a technology that actively affects its market when it comes to adoption and competitive posture.
The Axis Dome Cameras make it possible to transfer full frame rate motion JPEG video over an IP network. The cameras enables the user to zoom, pan and tilt in real-time making it a given choice for surveillance in all kinds of environments.
"Axis has emerged as the leading vendor of network video technology, earning itself the Excellence in Technology Award," says Frost & Sullivan research analyst Michael Valenti in a press release. "The Axis network dome cameras are unique solutions for the IP surveillance market in that they combine the features of both analogue and network-based cameras."
Lund-based company Axis specialises in increasing the value of network solutions. Apart from the dome cameras, other products include print and video servers that are all based on in-house developed technology. Axis have offices in 15 countries worldwide including China, Italyand Singapore.
