Microsoft set to expand in Øresund Microsoft is planning to expand their development centre in Denmark within the next few years. That was revealed by CEO Steve Ballmer during a recent visit at Microsoft Business Solutions in Vedbæk.

- We are very ambitious and have set huge goals. We want to expand and use our Danish team the best way we can, he added.
Ballmer spoke of future internationalisation and how Vedbæk should expect an increase of staff from India and China, two of the best countries when it comes to producing good staff. But there are many other factors that have to be considered when deciding where to expand:
- If we sat in Seattle and made the decision to start a new development centre, we would have probably chosen China before Denmark. But as we have acquired Navision and a group of talented co-workers we want to build around that and expand it, said Steve Ballmer to Jyllands-Posten.
Ballmer also declared that the rumours of Microsoft closing down the centre in Vedbæk were false. He added that Denmark provided an attractive environment for future expansions of jobs in the high-tech sector.
- If countries encourage an attractive environment for entrepreneurs, have a good climate for new ventures and a well-functioning university system there are good possibilities that projects within high-tech will arise and therefore also attractive workplaces, said Steve Ballmer.
