Swedish TAT enhances mobile experiences
Tired of the standard look and feel of mobile devices? Do not worry, this is about to change as a new cooperation between Swedish TAT and Japanese Aplix is launched. Together they will create new ways of customizing mobile devices.
(Wireless)

- Operators have been requesting specific look-and-feel customizations for the mobile phones on their networks for years. This collaboration will enable these customizations to be done quickly and easily, dramatically reducing the time to market for new products, said Wesley Kuo, President and CSO of Aplix in a press release.

It is Aplix´ Java platform JBlend and TAT´s graphics engine Kastor that are to be combined. With the new product Java will finally be used to its full potential and allow wireless operators och other parts of the communication chain to customize the user interface of mobile devices. But the two companies have plans that reach further than that:

- The partnership is about more than just the integration of JBlend and Kastor. The companies also plan to launch new products and services based on projects that are currently under co-development, said Ludvig Linge, CEO of TAT.

The first prototypes will be available sometime around the end of summer 2005.
