- Instead of having 27 different electronic devices in your living room, our vision is that you have one centrally placed platform that can manage those tasks, and we are very open for integration of new technology into that platform, said Martin Manniche, director of KiSS to Jyllands Posten.
It was late in July that Cisco confirmed their plans to buy KiSS Technology for 376 million Danish crowns. Kiss now belongs to Linksys, Ciscos division focusing on networking for home and small business users.
Charles Giancarlo, Cisco-Linksys president recently stated that: - KiSS has emerged as a leader in networked video and audio products in Europe and we hope to use that expertise to expand worldwide.
The acquiring of KiSS is yet another important step for the network giant Cisco to come closer to home users. Cisco and Linksys have previously worked with converging home electronics into media centres and will now use KiSS to develop the same ideas.
KiSS was founded in 1994 and has 65 employees. They are based in Hørsholm, just outside Copenhagen, Denmark.
