Danish site promotes Scandinavian wireless development
A new online portal based in Copenhagen will inform mobile software companies about the latest news concerning the wireless industry in Scandinavia.
(Wireless)

The new site, Wireless Scandinavia, was launched in Denmark on Friday and is set to be released in Sweden in the near future. Telecommunication Analyst John Strand from Strand Consult is one of people behind the new site:

- Basically you could say that developing this industry will be very useful for us. It can become gigantic, if you see at it in an international perspective and look at Ericsson and Nokia, said John Strand to Computerworld.

Other partners in the project are the IT-associations in Denmark and Norway. Negotiations are being held with the Swedish, Icelandic and Finnish equivalents in order to cover all of Scandinavia.

The original idea came up two years ago but failed to start through the lack of sufficient funding. The financiers were worried that too much of the site's focus would be about marketing and not enough about research and development.

The main goal for the new project is to spread relevant information in order to increase local sales within the wireless industry.
