Lund hosts European project about Nano threads
An internal Øresund project about nano threads has grown into a full scale international symposium that Lund Institute of Technology (LTH) will host.
(Micro & Nano)

It is the EU-project Node (nanowired based one-dimensional electronics) that LTH will co-ordinate. The project will launch next week starting with a symposium set to present the current research situation concerning nano threads in material technology, physics, biology/biomedicine and electronics.

- The electronics part has attracted a number of European companies, says Martin Magnusson at LTH to Ny Teknik.

Approximately 175 scientists from Sweden, France, Belgium, Switzerland and USA are set to participate in the conference that will be annual from now on.

- Nano threads are a hot field of research in the USA and Node is EUs effort in the sector. It's about getting one step further to developing concrete products. Large partners in the industry are companies such as Infineon, Philips and IBM in Europe, says Martin Magnusson.

Lundis among the world leaders when it comes to research within nano threads. A specially built laboratory for nano-related research will further ensure top quality surroundings for future nano technology projects. Read more about the new laboratory here
