Sony Ericsson is showing better results than in a long time. The president of the company, Miles Flint, describes the new W800 as a phenomenal success:
- We are starting to live up to the promises and expectations that came up during the merger of the two sections in Sony and Ericsson, said Miles Flint, according to Sydsvenskan.
Not only is the profit margin up, the development centre in Lund is set to release even more products in 2006 than the previous year. Sony Ericsson is increasing their width by producing both hi-tech and lo-end phones - for all budgets and needs.
Sales for mobile phones overall are doing extremely well at the moment. Miles Flint estimates that approximately 760 million mobile phones will be sold this year.
- We are not modest in this analysis, we try to make our estimations as correct as possible, he said.
- At the beginning of the year a lot of people thought that the market wouldn't grow any more. Now the prognoses are around 20 per cent growth instead, said Miles Flint.
