The world’s largest nano tech research microscope Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen are developing the world’s largest microscope.

The project is enabled by a donation of 15 M EUR to Danish research from the AP. Møller foundation, reports the news service Infopaq.
In collaboration with leading suppliers of microscopes, DTU will use the money to develop an Environmental Transmission Electron Microscope that is five times more powerful than existing microscopes for research.
The new microscope will give DTU unique opportunities for research in nano technology.
“It is hardly an exaggeration to say that these facilities will place Denmark at the very centre of research in nanotechnology. This initiative will make it possible for us to carry out research at an absolutely elite level. Not only will it attract researchers to Denmark, it also gives exciting business perspectives for Denmark,” says Director of DTU, Lars Pallesen.
