Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) and SwitchCore, two suppliers of silicon to the communications industry, will work together to provide advanced solutions for converged Metro, Access and Core networks.
“Combining our products with the FME devices into reference designs for next generation networks, will give our customers the quick time to market they need to be successful to deploy multiservice equipment,” says Erwin Leichtle, CEO of SwitchCore, in a press release.
Telecom systems using SwitchCore´s carrier-class Ethernet switching and FME´s SDH/Sonet based transport technology will be able to deliver flexible, robust and cost effective services to end customers, especially for emerging applications such as IPTV and Video-on-Demand.
SwitchCore develops integrated network devices for data, voice and video communication based on the Ethernet standard. The company has its headquarters in Lund, in the Øresund region.
