iMotions is a fast growing and globally focused company based in the Øresund region. It develops emotion-sensitive software tools based on highly sophisticated facial analysis hardware and the latest cognitive psychology and neuroscience research.
Its first product, Emotion Tool, is currently being marketed to the advertising and marketing research industries worldwide.
The company is in the process of patenting the product in the U.S, and has great expectations for the product since it can measure responses without having to attach sensors to the subject of the test.
Eye movements are tracked by the software using a standard eye tracking screen, which has a built-in camera and infrared light, writes ComputerWorld.
The subject of the test is positioned within an arms length from the screen and looks at several images for a couple of seconds. After 10 to 30 subjects have been tested, Emotion Tool extracts data about what the participants have looked at and the emotional response.
iMotions was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. It currently employs 22 people representing 10 countries and has been acknowledged by experts from MIT as one of the ventures with highest potential in the region.
