Danish researchers will develop mini antenna for anti-terror Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) are currently developing an antenna, intended for anti-terror equipment, based on lab-on-chip technology.

In a new project DTU researchers will develop super effective, millimetre small antennas which can give microchips and very small sensors wireless access to the Internet. They can be used in connection with online counter-terrorism where airports, railway stations and towns are under surveillance for anthrax bacteria and explosives by using microscopic detectors.
“The micro antenna makes for numerous high-tech communications opportunities. There are many different perspectives of usage,” says Professor Olav Breinbjerg at Ørsted•DTU to Ingeniøren.
The antenna can be used not only for detectors of explosives and biological weapons, but also for blood pressure meters, insulin pumps and other medical technical equipment.
