(Business)

Two IT-companies from the Øresund region made venture capital magazine Red Herring’s prestigious list of the top 100 most promising technology companies in Europe, Africa and the Mid-East, writes news service Rapidus. The Silicon Valley based magazine has previously ranked companies such as Google, Skype and eBay.

Polar Rose’s specialty is visual search. The company is set to take up competition with Google, which has acquired face recognition company Neven Vision. It is based in Malmö, Sweden and received last autumn an investment of four million EURO from Nordic Venture Partners. CEO is Danish Nikolaj Nyholm.

ZYB wants to build an online social network around people’s mobile phone contact list. The company offers a free service that automatically syncs up contact lists and calendars on a mobile phone with a web site available for private or public use, writes Red Herring.

ZYB is a Danish company based in Copenhagen and expects to reach a hundred thousand users within a near future. Tommy Ahlers is CEO and also one of the founders. Key investor is Nordic Venture Partners.
