Vaekstfonden is behind Denmark's largest raise of capital ever for a new private venture fund.
 
The new venture fund has a capital base of DKK 2.9 billion and a combination of private and public funds, marking it a historical moment in joint venture history.

Sunstone Capital was initiated with almost DKK 2 billion in new capital to invest in global growth companies. Also, the capital fund will further develop a portfolio of 33 businesses within IT and Biotech for Vækstfonden, with an invested capital of DKK 900 million, rendering  Sunstone in first closing a capital base of DKK 2,9 billion. Within a year, additional investors are expected  

Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Bendt Bendtsen, sees Sunstone Capital as the fulfilment of one of the stated goals in the Danish government's "New goals" platform.
